This weekend I finally branched out and attended my first Comic Con. It was amazing. So many talented people in one place! Some of the costumes were incredible and the stalls full of comics and artists were equally impressive. So here are my highlights:
I never thought a highlight would be traffic but I hadn’t laughed that much in a long time. Turns out dressing up attracts a lot of attention both horrified looks and giggles. I think we amused a lot of road users.
Dressing up as my favourite character from Orphan Black (Helena). From ordering the wedding dress and destroying it with scissors and fake blood. Right through to spotting Sestra’s and others who recognised my character.
Asides from meeting other Orphan Black fans I enjoyed finding characters from films and games that were a part of my childhood. There were so many I couldn’t possibly get a picture with everyone but here are a few.
Being with friends and having fun. While most us dressed up I have to say that Shane wins in the costume department. His Captain Scarlet costume is incredible and the prosthetic wounds are so realistic!
And perhaps my favourite part of the day was meeting a bunch of girls and guys dressed as characters from a game that Chris loves. Apparently, Payday is rather popular and we got talking to the group. They had organised a photoshoot and Chris got involved!
