Wow this year is just whizzing by, Halloween has been and gone already folks. How did you celebrate?
As kids Cate and I were not allowed to celebrate Halloween, instead the lights would all be turned out and we would have to be like mice, silent, pretending we weren’t in. Most of the time it worked and nobody would call by our house. We thought it was fun and would get really excited if someone knocked on the door because we would have to try extra hard to stay quiet. But now as an adult I can actually get really into it, I love a good excuse to dress up!
The celebrations began yesterday afternoon, unlike when I was a kid Lily is allowed to partake in all things Halloween asides from ‘trick or treat’. So to kick it all off we carved a selection of pumpkins. We didn’t have the right tools and I was worried about losing fingers but we remained in one piece and they don’t look too bad!Next on the menu was of course a Halloween party! I went all the way up to Winchester for my best friend Rowena’s party and it was totally worth the traffic on the M25. We all had a great time looking suitably gross and scary. There was good food, a generous amount of alcohol nothing too seriously and we watched some rather horrific Youtube videos (still having nightmares Harry) and played some Cards Against Humanity. Though the highlight had to be wondering the streets in search of food. Rowena and myself fancied a curry and had to go into a rather posh looking establishment!
