Versace constantly captures the sexy essence of the Italian woman through bold and dramatic ornate designs in the Atelier collections and the modern city girl ensembles seen in the ready-to-wear shows. But the thing I love the most about the Versace label is Donatella’s unparalleled ability to make all women look divine, that’s her super power if you will.
The New Versace Aesthetic:
The Autumn/Winter Versace Woman is sporty but sophisticated at the same time. She mixes luxurious textures like furs, giant sequins and heavy woollen coats with tight neoprene trousers and skirts. Blue was very much the colour of focus, navy to begin with then a bright sky blue. Other colours such as white, pink and yellow were added to create slightly psychedelic patterns. For this AW16 collection, there was still that the same iconic sexy Versace vibe but it has quite clearly evolved which is really quite refreshing, and I love most of the looks in this collection as they feel fresh for an AW palette.
The stunning Gigi Hadid opened for Donatella which just goes to prove how in demand the 20-year-old model is right now. Gigi being a little more curvaceous than your usual size 0 girls is again something refreshing as we are seeing the Fashion world become a little more accepting of different body shapes (Only a little more though). Unfortunately, on her next round of the circling catwalk, a little wardrobe malfunction has become the talking point of the show. It’s just a nipple people!
Is it just me or is the new Palazzo Empire Bag just the most sophisticated and chic bag ever. The size is just right meaning that you don’t have to do an ‘Eeny, meany, miny, moe’ on what to put in your bag for the day. And those little furs in the show are just so cute! The advert, on the other hand, shows Bella Hadid, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Stella Maxwell fawn over their beautifully crafted bags in an almost erotic manner, I guess they are massive objects of desire. I want one!
