I don’t know about you but I have been glued to the Olympics – the talent and determination is incredible. Well done GB! It makes you incredibly proud when your country is second on the medal tables. I think there is a lot we can take away from the games and channel into our own lives.
Obviously, I am not suggesting we are all going to go out and transform into Olympians; but we can make a choice to go for gold in our own special way. For an athlete their dream is the medal. For someone else gold might be losing weight or finally pursuing your dream job. Whatever it is that will appease your soul, chase it.
I admire the strength and determination the athletes have and I believe if we make the choice to channel that, anything is possible! You need to make the choice to pursue your dream. Without that first step you can’t take a chance in your life.
Chance is vital or else you become stuck in a rut. When Cate and I first talked about starting the blog, we took a while deliberating but eventually I forced us to take the plunge. Of course, we had worries! Maybe nobody would read our posts or the internet trolls would awaken from under their bridges. But starting it and taking that chance forced us to make changes to our lives. We needed to find time to write and edit posts as well as going out and experiencing things. Not only this, luckily so far no trolls have stumbled onto our site (touch wood), so the chance was worth the gamble.
Besides, even if your first attempt isn’t successful or your road to success is a little bumpy – theres no need to fear. I think we can all take a leaf out of Mo Farah’s book. It was an amazing moment when Mo Farah fell on the track and he picked himself. You could see he was determined to see his mission through and we should find that strength within our selves too. The pathway to success is not easy, if it was – everyone would choose it.
As the saying goes, you only live once! So make a choice, create the chance and embrace the change! Have a Motivated Monday and follow your dreams.
