YES!! EXO is finally back! And Ko Ko Bop was well worth the wait, it’s the perfect summer tune.
Ko Ko Bop is unmistakenly inspired by reggae and the incorporation of this genres trademark rhythm and beats give the song an awesome chilled summer vibe. The bass is heavy and meshes well with the electronic elements of the song too. I love the melody of the song and the lyrics despite being (for the most part) in a language I can’t speak (yet) are so catchy. My only criticism is sometimes instead of hearing Ko Ko Bop I keep hearing Coco Pop (the chocolate breakfast cereal!) 😂
The music video for Ko Ko Bop is out of the world! And it is perhaps EXO’s weirdest but coolest video so far. The tropical trippy adventure starts with what looks like multicoloured pills! And the rest that follows is a rather kaleidoscopic trip, potentially induced by the drugs the group are making. And I must say that since 10am (that’s when we got the song in the UK) I have been listening to the song non-stop so I am probably addicted!
The fashion and the dancing in the video are also practically perfect. The loud holiday shirts, clashing colours and prints complement the craziness of the visuals of the video (floating cars, clouds and so many other bizarre things), and I’m just going to say it…Kai looks rather fine in a plethora of ab exposing shirts😍! The dance routine itself is too cool and at times the movements match the exact rhythm of the song which is just so damn awesome and complicated. But that’s something you always can expect from an EXO video, damn good dancing.

The Eve is one of my favourite tracks off of the album and the choreography is just so amazing and a little sensual! 😳
Well, what do you think of the new song (and the rest of the album)? Whether you’re a die hard EXO-L or new to the group let me know in the comments section what you thought of the new track!
