So I was inspired by Basically Britt‘s Easter Book Tag video on Youtube so I thought I would give it a go. There are 9 prompts in total and each of them pertains to the theme of Easter (obviously lol). So without further ado here is my Easter Book Tag.
Rabbits – A book that you wish would multiply
aka a stand-alone novel that you really liked, that doesn’t have a sequel.
Mmm, this one is tricky because so many books that I have read wouldn’t need a sequel and the ending of the novel felt perfect as it was lol!!
Egg – A book that surprised you
I don’t tend to read Young Adult books but I picked up Cinder because it looked like a possibly intriguing concept, and I was quite surprised how much I actually enjoyed it and I can safely say that I’ll be picking up the sequel rather soon.
Hunt – A book that was hard for you to get your hands on
Okay so this book only applies due to the fact that it took me ages, and multiple attempts to try and buy it at a physical bookstore rather than online 😂1Q84 by my favourite author, Haruki Murakami!! I don’t know why I just didn’t give in and buy it online, but every time I went to a bookshop it was either out of stock or the front cover was scratched and bent.
Lambs – A children’s book that you still enjoy
Spring – A book with a cover that makes you think of spring
I spoke about this book in our Spring TBR because the cover with the Sakura in full bloom just screams Spring to me.
Jesus – A religious or spiritual book that you love
Hmmm, I don’t really know that I own any, I have an interest in Zen Buddhism but I usually consume that through Podcasts or Youtube videos.I guess this book counts seeing as the author Haemin Sunim is a Korean Zen Buddhist Monk. I guess this book may fall more under the genre of Self-Help than Spiritual/Religious, but it’s a good book to read to relax and focus your priorities in life.
Rising from the dead – A book from a deceased author
Okay so I have a random story (that’s probably not interesting at all but I’ll tell it anyway), when I was at school, I think I was around 12 or 13 at the time I found a copy of this book and I started reading it and I really liked it but I didn’t finish it because I had to return it, so, me being an idiot I didn’t note down who the author was or what the book was called so that I could find it again. So fast forward to a few years back to when I first joined up to Goodreads and I was trying to make a TBR list, I managed to find the book again through a cryptic google search along the lines of ‘book that involves a man, a castle and a village’ a low and behold Kafka’s The Castle (an insanely famous novel, *Facepalm*) was that long lost book. Alas, I am still to finish the book! 😂
Baskets – A book that is in your Amazon cart or wish list right now
A novel by a rather unknown (well unknown to me that is) Russian novelist that fulfils many things that I like in a book, there is: Murder, Paris as a setting, and if the reviews are anything to go by a sort of metaphysical investigation and perhaps a Kafkaesque/Murakamiesque questioning of reality.
Candy – A book that is sweet
Okay so this isn’t a book, it’s a webcomic but it’s absolutely so freaking cute.
Winter Woods is the cutest webcomic ever and the story is a sort Frankenstein re-telling, but with cuteness, romance and adorable side characters. It’s available to read for free on Line Webtoons so go check it out you won’t regret it!!!
So that’s a wrap on my attempt at the Easter Book Tag!! Hope you enjoyed it and let me know in the comments section your picks or if you have a blog or youtube channel and fancy tackling the Easter Book Tag then send me a link to your post/video!!!
